As part of the Desa Mentari Programme, a Sunway University initiative to uplift lives and drive lasting community impact, the BKMK workshop empowered nine female micro-entrepreneurs, aged 27 to 57, from the Desa Mentari community.
Over two days, participants—ranging from home-based F&B sellers to traditional saree makers—gained essential entrepreneurial skills, including social media marketing with TikTok Shop Malaysia and financial literacy on cost estimation and pricing strategies.
With support from Sunway iLabs, the Sunway University Community DeveI Team, and Sunway students and Sunway University Alumni Network member, the workshop provided hands-on mentorship. This marks the start of an ongoing journey, with follow-ups planned to support their sustainable growth.
